  • Makes 5 servings

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Place ground beef in a bowl.
  2. Add onion and egg white and mix with your hands.
  3. Add parsley, oregano, cumin, garlic salt and pepper.
  4. Mix, then divide into 5 portions.
  5. Slice 5 thin slices of tomato.
  6. Cut remainder into wedges or thick slices.
  7. Slice feta into 5 thin slices.
  8. Divide the meat into 5 portions, then divide each portion into 2 pieces.
  9. Flatten each piece into a very thin patty.
  10. Top 1 patty with a slice of tomato and a slice of feta.
  11. Top with another patty. Gently seal edges so cheese won't leak out.
  12. Repeat with remaining patties.
  13. Brush grill with olive oil and cook burgers slowly over medium heat until insides are thoroughly cooked (or fry burgers in a pan in olive oil).
  14. Serve with sliced tomato, parsley sprigs and tzatziki sauce.
