Mozzarella Tomato is a simple appetizer or side dish that works with any Italian meal and takes almost no time to make. Since this recipe involves only a few ingredients, it is very important to have each ingredients in high quality.

Ingredients

  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Mozarella cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Basil
  • Black pepper (optional)

Method

Start by slicing extremely fresh and ripe tomatoes. Thickness of the tomatoes is according to personal opinion, yet most commonly thick slices are more tasty. Then, slice round pieces of fresh mozzarella cheese usually a little thinner than your tomatoes. Lay mozzarella and tomato slices in a repeating pattern (cheese, tomato, cheese, tomato) overlapping each other. Drizzle the top with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Finish by sprinkling the top with basil. Season with black pepper if desired.
