- 1 1/2 pounds tofu
- 2 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1 medium chopped Onion
- 1/4 pound Mushrooms, washed and sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons chives
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup tamari soy sauce
- 1 to 2 tablespoons cooking sherry
Drain tofu on paper towel.
Add salt, pepper, chives and garlic powder. Remove mixture from pan. Slice drained tofu into long strips, about 3 inches long, 3/4 inches wide and 1/2 inch deep. Fry tofu on both sides in remaining 1 tablespoon butter until golden brown. Add mushroom-Onion mixture to tofu.
