  1. Cream together the sugar, oil, egg, and pumpkin until light and fluffy.
  2. Stir in the flour, baking powder, soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, coves and orange juice.
  3. Add the walnuts and raisins.
  4. Stir to blend.
  5. Pour into a lightly oiled 9 by 13 pan.
  6. Sprinkle on the coconut.
  7. Bake in a 350°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
  8. Cool the pan completely on a wire rack for 5 minutes.
  9. Cut into bars.
