Procedures[edit]

  1. Preheat oven to 325 °F to 350 °F (about 175 °C).
  2. Combine first 8 ingredients (water - allspice) and boil for 3 minutes.
  3. Sift together other ingredients.
  4. When syrup is cool, mix all ingredients and put in a greased loaf pan.
  5. Bake for 50 minutes or until done.
  6. Cool 10–15 minutes and remove from pan.
  7. Frost if desired.
