Duck with Pickled Cucumbers

In Romanian: Rata cu castraveti acri



  1. Fry the duck pieces in lard until it starts to brown.
  2. Add the chopped onion and flour and let fry a little longer.
  3. Then add warm water to cover the duck pieces.
  4. Cover and simmer for half an hour.
  5. Prepare 2 inch / 5 – 6 cm long pieces of pickle.
  6. To the meat add pickles, tomato sauce, sugar, chopped dill and simmer until the meat is done and the liquid is reduced.
  7. You can also use raw onion instead of fried.
  8. In this case, add it with the warm water.
