Savory Oatcakes



  1. Melt the fat in the water, and then sprinkle in the oatmeal.
  2. Knead for several minutes.
  3. Roll out on a floured board with oatmeal, rolling very thin.
  4. Cut into large or small rounds as desired.
  5. Bake on a moderately hot griddle or thick frying pan for about ten minutes.
  6. Allow to harden in a warm place.
  7. Serve with slices of cheese.
