Amish coffee cake



  1. Mix sugar, flour and shortening.
  2. Take out 1 cup for topping.
  3. Dissolve soda in hot coffee, add to the flour mixture add egg and vanilla.
  4. Spread on sheet pan and sprinkle on topping.
  5. Bake at 325 – 350°F for 30 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle with powdered sugar after baked.
