  • Parsley
    1 unit
  • Pickled cucumbers or walnuts
    1 unit
  • Butter
    1 unit
  • Flour
    1 unit
  • Beef broth
    1 unit
  • Vinegar
    1 unit
  • Port wine
    1 unit
  • Mushroom ketchup
    1 unit
  • Mustard
    1 unit

Method

Chop parsley leaves finely

Take two or three pickled cucumbers, or walnuts, and divide into small squares

Put a piece of butter as big as an egg into a saucepan, when it is melted, stir in a tablespoonful of fine flour, and half a pint of the broth of the beef

Add a tablespoonful of vinegar, one of mushroom ketchup, or port wine, or both, and a tablespoonful of mustard

Simmer together until it is as thick as you wish

Put in the parsley and pickles and warm them
