- oil1/2 teaspoon
- mustard seeds1/4 teaspoon
- tumeric1/2 teaspoon
- dry brown rice1 cup
- mung beans (dry)1 cup
- water5-1/2 cups
- cumin1-1/2 teaspoons
- curry powder1 teaspoon
- pepper1/4 teaspoon
- powdered ginger1/4 teaspoon
- salt1 teaspoon
- finely chopped cabbage1 cup
- chopped green pepper1 cup
- finely shredded carrots1 cup
Method

Heat the oil in a large pan.

Add the mustard seeds.

When they begin to pop add the turmeric and fold in the rice and beans until coated with oil.

Add the rest of the spices and water.

Simmer about 45 minutes, most of the water will be absorbed.

Remove from heat and add vegetables.
