Ingredients

  • -ounce can of tomatoes; I use cubed San Marzanos. Crushed also work
    but make for a smoother sauce.

  • capers
    about 1/4 of a 3 oz. bottle; as you can see, I've sprung for the $1.75 Haddon House capers: because you're worth it, baby.
    1 teaspoon
  • olives
    pitted; the original recipe called for Gaeta olives, I am using Kalamata. I've made it with both and the end product is about equivalent.
    1/2 cup
  • garlic
    depending on how much you like it. I grew up with my Italian grandmother's cooking, so I'm going to go ahead and add the four mega-cloves you see here.
    3-4 cloves
  • -ounce tin of anchovies packed in olive oil

  • Red pepper flakes to taste
