Ingredients
- ice cream - softened (You can use any ice cream flavor. We recommend chocolate)1 quart
Method
1
Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
2
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a 2-inch thick slab of softened chocolate ice cream (or chosen flavor) on it, shaping it into a dome approximately 4 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall.
3
Return the ice cream dome to the freezer and chill for at least 10 minutes until firm.
4
Prepare the meringue by whisking egg whites and sugar until stiff peaks form, creating a glossy, thick mixture.
5
Remove the ice cream dome from the freezer and quickly cover it completely with the meringue, using a spatula to seal all edges and create decorative peaks and swirls on the surface.
6
Place the baked alaska on the preheated baking sheet and bake for 2-3 minutes until the meringue peaks turn golden brown.
