Ingredients
- sm ripe bananas6 unit
- x popsicle sticks6 unit
- tbl chocolate syrup (optional)6 unit
Method
1
Peel the bananas and cut them in half crosswise. Insert a wooden popsicle stick into the flat cut end of each banana half, pushing it about halfway through.
5 minutes
2
Place the banana pops on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until firm. This initial freeze ensures the bananas hold their shape when dipped in chocolate.
60 minutes
3
Prepare your toppings by placing crushed nuts, sprinkles, shredded coconut, or other desired toppings into separate shallow bowls or plates. Set aside within easy reach.
5 minutes
4
Melt chocolate chips or chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water, stirring constantly until completely smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
7 minutes
5
Transfer the melted chocolate to a tall, narrow glass or deep bowl for easier dipping. Working quickly, dip each frozen banana pop into the chocolate and rotate to coat evenly.
5 minutes
6
Immediately after dipping, roll or sprinkle the chocolate-coated banana pop with your desired toppings before the chocolate sets. Work one pop at a time for best results.
3 minutes
7
Return the coated banana pops to the parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until the chocolate shell is completely firm and set.
30 minutes
8
Serve the banana pops directly from the freezer. If storing, wrap each pop individually in plastic wrap and keep frozen for up to one week.
