Method
1
Choose your flavored liquid base such as fruit juice, lemonade, or a sweetened fruit puree and pour it into a mixing jug or bowl.
2 minutes
2
Add vodka to the liquid base at a ratio of approximately 1 part vodka to 4-5 parts flavored liquid, then stir thoroughly to combine. Using too much vodka will prevent the mixture from freezing properly.
2 minutes
3
Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or flavor as desired, adding sugar syrup or additional juice if needed.
2 minutes
4
Carefully pour the mixture into icy-pole or ice lolly molds, leaving a small gap of about 5mm at the top to allow for expansion during freezing.
3 minutes
5
Insert the icy-pole sticks into each mold, ensuring they are centered and standing upright. If the mixture is too liquid to hold the stick in place, freeze for 30 minutes first before inserting the sticks.
5 minutes
6
Place the molds in the freezer and freeze for a minimum of 6-8 hours or overnight. Note that due to the alcohol content, the icy-poles will remain softer than standard frozen treats.

7
To unmold, briefly run warm water over the outside of the mold for 10-15 seconds and gently pull the stick to release each icy-pole.
