right This simple, no-cooking-required recipe comes from my paternal grandmother, and is a variation on the classic banana pudding recipe that comes on the back of the vanilla wafer box.

Method
1
Pour cold milk into a large mixing bowl and add the Jell-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling. Whisk together for about 1-2 minutes until the pudding thickens to a smooth consistency.
2
Fold the thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping into the pudding mixture until fully combined and no white streaks remain.
3
Layer half of the vanilla wafer cookies in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish or similar serving bowl.
4
Arrange half of the sliced bananas over the cookie layer in an even distribution.
5
Spread half of the pudding mixture over the bananas, smoothing the top with a spatula.
6
Repeat the layering: add the remaining vanilla wafer cookies, followed by the remaining banana slices.
7
Top with the remaining pudding mixture, spreading it evenly to cover all exposed layers.
8
Crumble a few additional vanilla wafer cookies on top for garnish if desired, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
