- ¼ teaspoon
- milk½ cupas needed
Method
1
Finely chop the chocolate into small, uniform pieces and set aside. This ensures even and quick melting.
3 minutes
2
In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the heavy cream and milk, warming them together until the mixture just begins to steam and tiny bubbles appear around the edges. Do not allow the mixture to boil.
5 minutes
3
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chopped chocolate to the warm cream and milk mixture. Let it sit undisturbed for one minute to allow the chocolate to soften.
1 minutes
4
Gently whisk the chocolate and cream together in slow, steady circles until a completely smooth, glossy ganache forms with no lumps remaining.
3 minutes
5
Sift in the powdered sugar, ground cinnamon, and freshly grated nutmeg, then whisk thoroughly to fully incorporate all of the spices and sweeten the fondue to a balanced richness.
2 minutes
6
Add a few drops of almond extract to the fondue and stir gently, tasting and adjusting the quantity to achieve a subtle aromatic depth without overpowering the chocolate.
1 minutes
7
Return the saucepan to the lowest possible heat setting and stir continuously for two to three minutes until the fondue reaches a smooth, pourable, and luxuriously velvety consistency ideal for dipping.
3 minutes
8
Transfer the warm chocolate fondue to a fondue pot or a pre-warmed serving bowl, and immediately serve alongside Medjool dates and your choice of accompaniments for dipping.
