  • 1 unit

Method

1
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
10 minutes
2
Measure out your sugar and freshly grated nutmeg, combining them in a small bowl and whisking together until evenly blended.
2 minutes
3
Prepare a simple wafer dough or cracker base by mixing the sugar-nutmeg blend into your chosen dry base mixture, working the ingredients together until a uniform, cohesive dough forms.
5 minutes
4
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out as thinly as possible, aiming for approximately 1-2mm thickness to achieve a crisp final texture.
5 minutes
5
Using a sharp knife or pastry cutter, cut the rolled dough into small uniform rectangles or squares and transfer them carefully onto the prepared baking sheet.
4 minutes
6
Dust the tops of the cut pieces lightly with additional nutmeg and sugar to enhance the aromatic, sweetened crust.
2 minutes
7
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the crackers are golden, dry, and crisp throughout, watching carefully to prevent burning.
20 minutes
8
Remove from the oven and allow the crackers to cool completely on the baking sheet before serving, as they will continue to crisp as they cool.
