Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Peel 4 bananas and place them in a large mixing bowl. Mash with a fork until mostly smooth with some small lumps remaining.

Add 1 cup sugar, ⅓ cup oil, and 2 eggs to the mashed bananas. Stir vigorously until well combined and slightly lighter in color.

In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, ½ teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Pour the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and fold gently with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix; small flour streaks are acceptable.

Transfer batter to prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Bake for 50-55 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
