Ingredients

Bring the 3 cups of milk to a boil in a large pot over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer.

While the milk heats, tear or cut the bread dough into small bite-sized pieces, roughly 1/2 to 3/4 inch in size.

Combine the ground poppy seed with 3/4 cup of water in a bowl and stir until well mixed, creating a poppy seed paste.

Add the bread pieces to the simmering milk and stir gently to combine, cooking for 5-7 minutes until the bread begins to soften.

Pour the poppy seed mixture into the pot with the bread and milk, stirring continuously to blend evenly.
