In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and a pinch of sugar in warm water and let it stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy and activated.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, and ground cumin until evenly combined.

Beat the eggs lightly and add them along with the activated yeast mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and allow it to rise in a warm spot until doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a round baking pan. Punch down the risen dough and press it evenly into the prepared pan.

Using a knife or skewer, score a traditional decorative pattern onto the surface of the dough, then let it rest uncovered for 15 minutes for a second rise.
