Vegetables in Milk Sauce
In Romanian: Legume in sos de lapte.
- 2 lbs / 1 kg vegetables (new potatoes or green peas, beans, asparagus, carrots, kohlrabi),
- ½ tablespoon flour
- 4 oz / 100 g butter
- 1¼ cups milk
- Clean and wash the vegetables and boil in salt water until done.
- Cube the potatoes and kohlrabi first.
- Drain and then add to the following sauce: fry ½ tablespoon flour with 2 oz/50 g butter and add hot milk to it.
- Simmer for 10 – 15 minutes, then add the remaining 2 oz / 50 g butter, let simmer a few more minutes and serve immediately.
