Bean sprouts fried in batter is a simple and easy to prepare Burmese vegetarian main dish. It can also be served as an appetizer (by frying small balls) or snack.



  1. Wash bean sprouts thoroughly and drain well.
  2. Remove the roots.
  3. To make the batter, add all the other ingredients.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Add in bean sprouts.
  6. In a frying pan, heat oil.
  7. Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture and drop in the hot oil.
  8. Cook until golden brown and crisp.
  9. Drain on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
  10. Serve hot.
