Coconut Snaps

  • Makes 48



  1. Beat shortening till soft.
  2. Add sugar and cream till fluffy.
  3. Add water and mix.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients in order, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Finish with the nuts and coconut.
  6. Form into rolls, wrap in waxed paper and chill for several hours in the fridge.
  7. Slice into rounds an ⅛ inch thick.
  8. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 375°F.
  9. Remove to a wire rack to cool.
