Description

Namibian bread

Ingredients

Procedures

  1. Sift flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
  2. Mix in the Sugar and spices,then add the margarine.
  3. Rub the margarine into the mix until it is crumbly.
  4. Form a well in the middle and pour in the milk and egg.
  5. Mix together into a stiff dough, and put on a floured board.
  6. Knead dough for 10 minutes until smooth.
  7. Grease the inside of a 900 g loaf tin with the oil.
  8. Cook for around 45 minutes in a 200 :C oven.
  9. The cooked loaf should sound hollow when tapped.
  10. If not, re-heat, then turn onto a rack to cool.
