Tamarind Chutney [1] [2] this dish is an easy accompanyment to many different dishes in every part of India as it is both sweet and sour.



  1. Combine tamarind paste, water and jaggery in a deep pan, let boil.
  2. Include salt, ginger powder and chili powder.
  3. Continue to boil over medium heat, achieveing a consistency that is thick like a sauce.
  4. Let stand to cool.
