Spanish Taverns

Description

I always called these sloppy joes and had never heard them called taverns until my daughter-in-law called them that. I guess it just depends on what part of the country you are from. We have garage sales here and she calls them rummages.

Ingredients

• 1½ cups water
• ½ cup ketchup
• 1 tbsp chili powder
• 1 large onion, chopped
• 1½ – 2 lbs ground beef
• 2 tbsp mustard
• salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

1. Combine the first 4 ingredients and cook for 7 minutes.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 10 minutes.
3. Serve on buns.
