Procedures

  1. Cook the prunes, orange rind, and water in a saucepan until the mixture is soft and smooth.
  2. Meanwhile, combine the oats, flour, wheat germ, coconut, and oil in a bowl.
  3. Stir to blend.
  4. Press half the mixture in the bottom of an 8 inch square baking pan.
  5. Pour the prune mixture on top and spread evenly.
  6. Top with the remaining oat mixture and press evenly over the top.
  7. Bake in a 350°F oven for about 30 minutes, or until the topping is lightly browned.
  8. Cool in the pan before cutting into bars.
