German style Spätzle with herb seasoning recipe. Makes six servings
Ingredients
Noodles
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- milk to make one cup liquid total
- 1 pinch white pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dill
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 pot of boiling water
- ¼ stick butter
Bread crumb seasoning
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp dill
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp sweet paprika
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Procedures
- Melt butter in skillet.
- Blend dry ingredients.
- Break eggs in measuring cup and add milk to make 1 cup and beat.
- Fold into mix.
- Press through spätzle press into boiling water.
- Skim off noodles when they float; sauté in skillet.
- In a food processor blend dredge (Bread crumb seasoning) ingredients except fold in parsley by hand before use.
- Sprinkle seasoned breadcrumb over sautéd spätzle and toss.
