Description
Purchased from the Reinhart Estate in Ida, Oklahoma in 1992. Dated 1961. Notation on paper indicates this recipe is easy and very well received at cookouts.
Ingredients
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups pecan, chopped
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons white Karo syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Procedures
- Combine buttermilk and soda.
- Pour over Sugar.
- Let stand for 5 minutes.
- Add syrup.
- Cook slowly, stirring constantly, until it forms a soft ball in water.
- Remove from heat.
- Add margarine and vanilla.
- Beat well and add pecans.
- Spoon onto buttered foil.
