Procedures

Crust

  1. Combine flours and the 1 tablespoon sugar.
  2. Cut in margarine till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Sprinkle with ice water; toss till crumbly.
  4. Form dough into a ball.
  5. Press dough into a circle on waxed paper. Cover with another sheet of waxed paper.
  6. Roll into a 10 inch circle.
  7. Remove top sheet of waxed paper; invert onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  8. Crimp pastry edge. Prick with a fork.
  9. Bake crust in a 400°F oven for 12–15 minutes or till lightly browned.
  10. Cool.

Glaze

  1. Combine the 2 teaspoons sugar and cornstarch.
  2. Stir in orange juice.
  3. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
  4. Remove from heat; cool.

Tart

  1. Place crust on a serving plate.
  2. Arrange kiwi fruit in the center.
  3. Arrange bananas around kiwi and berries around bananas.
  4. Spoon glaze over fruit.
  5. Serve immediately or chill 1 hour.
