Description
Molasses pie [1][2] sometimes referred to as Tarte à la Farlouche or Tarte à la Pichoune, commonly made as a variation of this recipe with walnuts.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup raisins or (optional: walnuts)
- 1 tsp butter
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
Procedures
Combine flour, molasses and water to cook over medium heat, while constantly stirring for a smooth and creamy consistency. The mixture will become somewhat transparent, when this happens add; raisins, butter and almond extract, stirring well. Then cover and allow to cool. Put mixture into a 8" baked and cooled pie crust to finish. Optional to add whip cream or ice cream to serve.
