Tomato Chewies

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 45 minutes – 1½ hours

Serves: 2 (depends on the situation)


This is a very simple recipe and very, very tasty! This is a very easy recipe to scale up or down. I've even fed these to a hard-core carnivore, and he loved them.



  1. Cut all the tomatoes in half (I prefer to cut them through the "navel")
  2. Place the tomato halves cut side up on a baking pan
  3. Sprinkle with salt
  4. Bake at a low heat (around 200 °F) for as long as it takes for them to shrivel but not burn
  5. Allow to cool and enjoy!
