  1. Melt butter in a oven over medium high heat.
  2. Add apples and onion and saute about 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in cabbage and stir frequently for 8 minutes.
  4. Stir in sugar, vinegar, salt, cloves, and allspice.
  5. Cover and cook about 10 minutes.
  6. Uncover and add red wine and jelly and cook 5 minutes more.
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste if desired.
