Muesli is a healthy breakfast cereal that was created by a doctor in Switzerland as a hearty breakfast food. A nutritious Swiss cereal developed for the health conscious people. Basic muesli is a mixture of rolled oats (raw or toasted), grains and dried fruit, which is eaten as a cereal or a snack. It is also good sprinkled over ice cream, frozen yogurt or fresh fruit. There are many variations of muesli available, which include ingredients such as cinnamon, sunflower seeds, bran, rye, wheat and other grains. Many different types of fruits and nuts can also be used.

  1. At night, before you go to bed, put the rolled oats into a large bowl and pour the water on top.
  2. In the morning, peel the apple, cut it in half and then grate it. Add it to the bowl and then stir in the lemon juice.
  3. Gently stir the apple, raisins and nuts into the softened oats. Pour a small amount of milk on top of the oats, and then drizzle the honey on the top of the milk.

  • Muesli is traditionally eaten at room temperature, but feel free to heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds for a warm breakfast treat.
