Lemony Poached Golden Apples

  1. Remove peel around top half of each Apple.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients; bring to boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes.
  4. Place Apples in hot juice.
  5. Cover and simmer about 15 minutes or until Apples are tender but still hold their shape.
  6. Baste and rotate Apples frequently.
  7. Remove Apples with slotted spoon; halve each Apple and place in individual serving dishes.
  8. Strain juice and return to pan.
  9. Boil until juice is reduced to 1 cup; serve warm over warm Apples.
