Brazilian Bananas with Rum

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a saucepan, mix the sugar, lemon juice, butter and rum together and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Peel the bananas and slice them in half, lengthwise.
  4. Place them cut side down, in a buttered baking dish and pour the hot syrup over them.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes, turning once.
  6. Let cool.
