1948 Sour Cream Potato Casserole

  1. Melt the butter and cook onion in it until it's tender.
  2. Place half of the potatoes in a buttered casserole dish and sprinkle them with salt and pepper.
  3. Add part of the onion, bran and cheese.
  4. Mix the sour cream, eggs, salt, plus pepper.
  5. Pour the mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Repeat, with another layer of potatoes, cheese mixture and sour cream mixture.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 20 to 30 minutes.
